We, the Ushers, want to encourage you to come in the presence of the Lord in any of our spirit filled, Bible teaching, Bible preaching, Holy Ghost filled services. We will be at the door to greet and welcome you.
In the Bible doorkeepers are people who guard access to important or restricted places. Doorkeepers were very important in the temple as keepers of the threshold. Levites were appointed as gatekeepers for the Ark. Eunuchs were doorkeepers at the palace of the Persian king.
Most usher boards have as their special verse Psalms 84:10: "For a day in the courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
We wish for our own usher board a thousand days in the house of God. Being the first person congregants see, truly our doorkeepers open more than just doors; they open the door of opportunity to be lifted up, and the weary to find rest. They smile, say hello, and shake hands of those who enter the edifice. They show love and understanding to everyone who enters the doors of the church.
We celebrate, appreciate, and applaud you every time you attend Church
